Move over Harry Bosch, there's a new guy in town. . . . Detective Mike Stoneman can match wits with Harry any day of the week." -- Authors Show Linda

Kindle Book Award Semi-Finalist / CLUE Book Awards Semi-Finalist

A MOB BOSS IS EATEN ALIVE BY TIGERS AT THE BRONX ZOO
. . . .That was the fourth unsolved murder in four months - each on the last Saturday. The other three were even more unusual . . . .Could they be related? The victims share no similar traits and have no connections. Why would a single killer choose such strange and disparate methods? Why spread your victims across all of New York?

Each new murder adds a piece to the killer's jigsaw puzzle, but unraveling the clues and finding the killer's pattern may not be enough to catch him. NYPD homicide Detectives Mike Stoneman and Jason Dickson have to stop the elusive killer before he completes his decathlon of death. And, they have to deal with an FBI profiler, who has been called in to help. Mike must also avoid being distracted by Medical Examiner Michelle McNeill, who seems to be on his mind a lot lately. She's an asset to the investigation, but is this any time to be starting a romance?

The task force is racing against the calendar. Only one thing is certain - on the last Saturday of the month, there will be blood.

My Rating: 4.5
My Recommendation: 9.5
(I received this book free in exchange for my honest review)

Well written, full of murder tension, realistic, read like an actual crime doc on Investigation Discovery. I was hooked, to say the least. I have read my fair share of thriller/crime fiction books. I have to say this is up there as one of my favourites.

You can tell right away that the author has inside knowledge of the goings-on of a real investigation. The author brings an authentic feel to this book and pretty much gets rid of the "outsider" looking in troupes, making detectives and investigators look incompetent.

I liked the dynamic between the new and old detectives and the addition of the FBI profiler. The sweet yet awakened growing romance between our lead, Mike and the coroner, brought the very real notion that dating as you get older is an awkward but cute as hell mess.

As for the overall plot, I loved it. It was steady, kept me engaged, and I oddly enjoyed getting into the killer's head. That added element rounded out this story and made the ending all the more incredible.

Overall this is a wonderful book for all crime lovers and a perfect book if you're looking to start reading the genres. Though I will say, it might spoil you for other books. To end, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading
