My first read from this author and I didn't know what to expect. I have to say, it's been a long time since I have been completely captured by a book. Though it ending in a cliff-changer, I was bouncing with happiness. I've found my reading joy again, and I can't wait to read the other books in this series, and more from this author.
This is a short read but it was written splendidly. In such a short while I connect with the MC, the side characters and the mysterious Hinata. I feel like he's going to me a major player in the books to come, and though there is no romance in this book, I feel a shipping coming on.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I will tell you that this book read like a full length novel. The story flowed, the plot was set, there was no needless filler, and even the small backstory we get on the MC was just enough for you to feel a connection. It felt like reading the first chapter of a paranormal Manga series, and one that's going to get better and better with each book!
Overall this book is a solid 5 stars; and it gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
