Gabe (Glass City Hearts Book One) by Desiree Lafawn was a fast-paced, heart-pounding, emotional read that hooked me hard. I think I just set a new reading record.
Holy catfish! That was superb, no, it was astonishing, spectacular... I'm at a loss for real constrictive words. The ending was all emotional badassness that exploded into a mess of ... I can't say... but I wanted it to keep going. I need a Gabe and Angel in my life!
The writing was perfection; it grabbed my attention and held it. I don't think I looked up in three hours. Well, once, my cat forced her way in my lap. The tone shifts were seemliness, as were the POV switches. I loved that I got to be in Gabe's head. It gave this story that extra something that drove the hooks in more. Reading both mindset and backtracking, so you got both sides of a situation, magic, pure magic!
The book was not messing around. We are tossed into the fire right out of the gate. Angel's mess, her peal for help and the twist of her getting... I can't say it will ruin my favourite part of the book. All I will say is that it set the stage and made me Team Gage. Speaking of, I loved his character. I don't know what it was about this alpha male, normally I'm not fond of them, but hell, this was alpha done right and made me all gushy on the inside (New book boyfriend people!). In the words of Louise Belcher, I just want to slap it. I want to slap his hideous beautiful face.
Angel, I like you, smart mouth and all. Though I was annoyed by your, how do you call it, stupid way of holding a grudge? Well, I was until the end, and you almost had me turn on my man Gabe, but hell, now I want to hug you. Anyways, back to me not talking to a fictional character. Angel is everything I look for in a female MC. Smart, strong and flawed. She spoke her mind, did what she believed was right and tried to live her best life while hiding being a reinforced concert wall.
God, I loved this book, and I need, need to know more about them, about their world. This book was a tea. There are so many complex things in the subplots and undertones that I need to know... everything. I highly recommend you get your hand on this magical read. You will not be able to take your eyes off this classic in the making.

Dino (Glass City Hearts Book Two) by Desiree Lafawn was an epic thrill ride that had me hooked from start to finish!
I love this series. Though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly suggest going back and reading the first book. As the now supporting characters were the stars in the last, and there will be something you won't quite get or understand. That and the first book is freaking amazing!
Okay, let's start with something simple... everything about this book/series has captured me, body and soul. I will be honest, I didn't really like Dino in the first book or Jeanette, but my god, by the end of this book, they are now my people.
Picking up pretty close to where the first book leaves off, we are again tossed back into Glass City and its many mysteries and ongoings. (Which is a lot for this small place). The focus is now on Dino, though Gabe and Angel are still relevant to the plot and moving the story forward. It just this time we are looking in from the outside. The POV switches are between Dino and Jeanette, and as I said, two supporting characters from the first book I wasn't too keen on. But still very curious about it.
I got to see a whole new side of Jeanette, and holy hell, I was not excepting the story she was hiding. This was crazy. From the start, as Jeanette slowly opens up to the readers, the tone shifts, and every word thereafter is laced with danger. Jeanette, though once broken down, is strong, smart and a fighter. She made this story shine, and I'm glad to know more about these important side characters from the first book.
Dino, again another twist I wasn't expecting. I had a feeling he wasn't all that bad, but again getting his full background and getting in his head drastically changed my mind about him. I can't tell you too much because it will ruin the story, just know that sometimes the bad is actually good, and the good can sometimes be demons.
There is so much I want to gush about this book, but if I go too far down the rabbit hole, I'm going to end up spoiling something for you. So please take my super high recommendation that you are going to fall head over heels for this unique, out-of-the-box, witty/dangerous romance that will not only take a small part of your soul but leave a forever lasting impression on your reading heart.

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn was a fast-paced, light-hearted, fun, sweet, heart-pounding read that hooked me.
This series has to be my fav of the year. I will say that unlike the other two before it, this book was fairly shorter. I say that, though this book is standalone like the others, the timeline is connecting, and there are major spoilers from the other book, that and, this book gives no character background info on some major players. So I suggest you read the other two books before this one.
Because this is a short story, I'm not going to get into characters. However, if you have been following this series, you will recognize our main male MC, Jess. He was the bartender that appeared in books one and two and was Angel's "boss" in the first book. I've liked him from the start and was so happy that he gets his own story. Not only that, this one was a little more special because, unlike the other two books, where the two love interests already knew one another, Harlow and Jess were strangers that had a fated meeting.
Now, as I said, this book moves fast, as does the timeline. But because of the smooth writing and excellent timing, nothing felt missed. The love wasn't an inst-love situation and naturally grew, and it was sweet as hell. I will say that this book is tame compared to the other two, with just one smut scene. It was hot, don't get me wrong, but it was just.. so unlike the other books, this book felt like more a novella, like an in-between book rather than part of the main series. Even though some key plot points and a super plot bomb connected to another key character from the second book, I just felt like there could have been more. There was a lack of build-up to the main climax, that as emotional as it was.
I just felt like there could have been so much more done with this book, especially around Harlow. She's a badass mom who I felt didn't get her story fully told. Just saying that this book, with the material given, could have been full size and just as or even more amazing than it is now.
Overall this book was fantastic, and I really hope there is more to come from this world. I believe there is more story to tell and more adventures to be had. This rang-tag team could definitely get their own series, apart from this one center around the security firm. Fingers crossed...
What that said, I will leave you with my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
