by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fat Girl (Romance in Rehoboth #1) by K.L. Montgomery was a fun, entertaining, inspiring, feels invoking read that has brought me full circle. I say that because I have read all of the other books in this series before this one.
I have said in my intro, not my first read by this author, even though it should have been. What can I say? I follow the beat of my own drum. That and all the books in this series reads a stand-a-lone but has reoccurring characters. Needless to say, I knew how this story ended before I got to it, but it didn't ruin the magic. Instead, I got to see how one of my fav power couples got their start.
I love Claire, everything about here I love. In the other books, I saw the aftermath of her finding herself. To see this side of her was not only a teat, but I got to know her better as a character. As a bigger girl myself (not always, my weight has always been up and down.. damn sweets), I'm currently on my weight loss journey, doing it right this time. I'm goal to be healthy, strong and happy. Reading this book has hit home with me, and in truth, I wish I would have read it sooner. I connected with Claire. I know her struggles and damn some of the things that went through he head. I can relate. It's so real it makes me feel this book was written with personal experience or researched so well no detail was spared.
Not only was this book like a ride through my own head, but it was also funny as hell. My god, I was laughing out loud. In truth, though the other books in this series do have humour, this book topped that. I can tell you this book is a 5 star all round, mixed with superb writing and storytelling. There is a delightful brewing love story in there as well, but I'm not going to get into that cause I know too much! But it's worth the read. You will be fangirling over the man that steals her heart.
So with that said, please take my super high recommendation that you will fall head over heels with this unique, heart-lifting read.

The Flip b
y K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2) K.L. Montgomery was a fun, sweet low burn romantic read that hooked me from start to finish.
In my first read by this author and this series, I drove in head first, and I didn't come up until the last word was read. This is part of a series, but each book is a stand-alone. So no worries if you haven't read the other books.
Sonnet, strong-willed, smart and determined. I like her, and I loved seeing her slowly loosen up the more time she spent in the house with Drew and interacting with their crazy neighbours. She had a spark about her that made reading about her and Drew's growing friendship/something all the more fun and enjoyable.
Drew (Andrew), at first, I was a bit put off by him, just because he seemed like a jerk. But again, the more Sonnet got to know him, the more we did, and it turns out he isn't that much of a jerk at all. He had a fun playfulness about him that drew you in and made you sympathize with him. As the story goes on, he and Sonnet finally get to see what they were missing, and that, how they complimented each other quite well.
Overall this story is that good feel, late-night read that gets you all fuzzy in the insides. With its switching POVs and smoothing writing style, this is a super high recommendation from me, and I will be checking out the rest of the books in this series.

Plot Twist
by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Plot Twist (Romance in Rehoboth #3) by K.L. Montgomery is a feel a good read, which puts a spin on female MC's normal romance.
Not my first read by this author or this series and, I'm going to tell you that this is fast being one of my favourite of the year. It has a solid mix of entertaining and witty dialogue, with body-positive messages, making this series more than just your run-of-the-mill rom-com.
Lindy, she is our female MC. She isn't your normal female protagonist. For one, she's plus size, two, she isn't the so-called "natural beauty" that makes every man or woman in the room turn their heads. She's a realistic character that fits with what normal women look like and feel. I have seen some stunning women in my life, and never had I seen the goddess-like creatures portrayed in most romance novels. So reading about this normal everyday woman made this book more than enjoyable but real. Because no matter what movie and TV, and social media wants to make you believe, the big girl can get that hot guy. I have seen it, and it's about time it's reflected in entertainment.
For Lindy as a character, she starts out withdrawn and has accepted her role as the "sidekick" to her more thinner, "prettier" friends. We get a good look into her inner thoughts and, you start to feel a real connection with her; for me, you start to get protective. As the story moves on and she is pretty much forced out of her comfort zone, we see that fiery woman who has always been inside and damper by "social norms" that plus-size people aren't lesser and lazy. Lindy found her inner diva, and I was rooting for her and ecstatic that she was done with the BS.
Meric, he was a great character as well. Not your typical alpha male character. Actually, he wasn't an alpha male at all. He's that hot nerdy guy that always seems to get friend-zoned or ended up with an alpha female type that used him as a doormat -cough- his ex-wife cough-. Meric also went on a self-discovery journey. Building himself back up and accepting his feelings for not only his dog but for what he actually wanted in life. It was nice to see both him and Lindy slowly fall in love and gain some much-needed confidence that was stripped away.
I give this book my stamp of approval and my super high recommendation. This book was a joy to read. K.L. Montgomery has a way with words and a way with storytelling that sends out the right messages. These are the books that need to be made into movies to show everyone what it is to be real and send the message that you don't need to be Hollywood perfect to be happy.

Badge Bunny
by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Badge Bunny (Romance in Rehoboth Book 4) by K.L. Montgomery was a frustrating, fun, light-hearted, sassy read that had me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read by this author or in this series. This series follows the lives of different couples, all connected in some way. They are stand-a-longs, so no worries about reading out of order, but be warned, there are spoilers in these books, as they have recurring characters. So I do suggest reading these books in order.
Every time I read one of these books, they just keep getting better and better, and I hope there is more to come. These characters are so real, and every book has a positive message, and I love how the romance is built up. It gives you time to feel and process that these characters do, in fact, love one another and are falling hard. Nothing feels forced, and that makes these slightly cheesy romances all the more enjoyable. God, I want this series to get picked up by the W network or just any network or movie people.
There is only one thing that bothers me about this book. It was a scene, and I don't want to say it cause, spoiler... but I will say that it involved cold water swim in undies. That, for me, was a little unbelievable. Cause 1, one of the things I teach and have been taught is sea survival. It's all about surviving in cold water, and I will tell you that no matter how good a swimmer you think you are, your ass isn't making it long in a cold water swim without proper gear. And 2, the worst thing was, they did take off their clothes. The smart thing would have been to layer up and get some life jackets. Believe it or not, that layer of clothes creates a barrier and warms you with your body heat. Going in your skivvies opens you up to heat loss faster. I don't believe I need to explain hypothermia.
Anyways, enough about that.
This book follows Chris Everson. If you have been following the series, you know he makes an appearance in the other books. He's a cop, good-looking, and well, I don't want to tell you his other secret, cause that will ruin the fun and surprise. I've liked him from the other books, and getting inside his head in this one, was a treat. He isn't how he appears, and in truth, I loved him even more in this book, and though I liked my girl Brynne (This story's love interest), I got to say, Chris really stole the show for me. Brynne had her moments, she was unique, smart, quirky, but hey, she didn't really grow, you could say. Chris, on the other hand, went through a major change. He opened up, accepted that there are no labels on what is to be manly. He showed his true passion and fully embraced it.
Overall this book was a solid five for me, even with that one scene. This is that perfect late summer read, setting sun cool breeze. So please take my super high recommendation and stamp of approval. Because believe me when I say that you will not only fall in love with this unique cast of characters but with K.L. Montgomery's writing.
