Obsessed: Lila Casey Book 1
By: J. Collins
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars
Obsessed (Lila Casey Series Book 1) by J Collins was a pretty okay read that had me smiling, annoyed and just got me in all the good fun feels.
This book was such a joy to read that I had it pretty much read in one sitting. As I said it's fun, light hearted, and has some pretty good chuckle moments. I've read my fair share of vampire books, and I always love it when there's a new spin on the lore. This author did a great job of making this read fresh and enjoyable. The romance was quick, but not overpowering, it flowed nice and once the other vampires started showing up, the story found solid footing and took off.
I will say that our MC Lila was a little hard for me to like at the start. She seemed a little immature for her age, and it was annoying. She did get better as the story when on, but if it wasn't for Adam (our sexy vamp) then I don't think I would have liked her at all, and might even have not wanted to finish the book. Other elements like detail and the overall storytelling was a major draw for me, and helped with the unlikeable MC. But as I have said she does get better as the story goes on, I just wish she wasn't so, eyerolly at the start.
Overall this story is fantastically good, it's has that quirky feel that just keeps you engaged and turning the pages. I'm definitely going to be following this series, as I believe that it's going to be something epic. So yes, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
