My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ghost of a Chance (Redclaw Security #2) by McKenna Dean was a entertaining, light heart shiftier romance, that has me hooked from start to finish. ,

My first read by this author I didn't know what to expect. This book had all the cheesy goodness I loved. Mixed in with good character development and a surprised mystery that even I didn't see coming, made this book more than entertaining. It made it fun, emotional and down right amazing.

I have to say, this book hooked me almost right away. Right from that car rid down with Sarah's jerk of a man. (He made me want to stuff his phone were the sun don't shine). What a inconsiderate prick, not only with the way he treated her about her grandmother passing, but about her interest (that use to be his), using the excuse that they're adults. The adult thing to do, would be not embarrassed about your likes, interest, especially your partners, that you're going to spend the rest of your life with. She should have left him on the side of the rode. Well done to the author for creating that dislike, so when Casey's moved in, it made me feel like it was well warranted and not annoying. Simon can go pound sand.

Outside of the well rounded multi layered characters; the writing was easy to follow and had a lightness to them that just warmed your heart strings. I have to say as much as I liked Sarah, I was really drawn to Casey. There was just something in his demeanor that was refreshing. He wasn't your normal brewing alpha male MC. He was realistic and even though he was a shifter, he felt very human to me. My disconnect from Sarah was her biased shallow view on country men, and how only well read educated men were worth her time. I'm a opened minded person and I come from a small town, and not have I once thought like that. So on that front, I don't think Sarah and I would have gotten along. Well not at the start of the story anyways.

Overall I very much enjoyed this book and I'm loving the whole shifter security thing. I'm going to have to go back a read the first book. The series is written as standalone's, so no worries about reading out of order. If you haven't guested I'm giving this book my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading
