Crescent City Wolf Pack Series

Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #1)Werewolves Only
by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Werewolves Only (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #1) by Carrie Pulkinen was a wicket, action packed, steamy read that had my hooked from start to finish.

My first read by this author, I was drawn in by the cover, the synopsis and the raving reviews. I was not disappointed in the slightest! It's been awhile since I've read a good entertaining paranormal shifter romance. This had everything that I love, strong kickass heroine, sexy not so alpha, but very alpha male, mystery, action, epic fights and a slow burn romance that felt real and believable.

I will say that, I did get a little frustrated with Macey towards the end, nothing base on her performed as a MC, but with her standoffness and pushing Luke away. Girl did not know how to listen to her heart, and that leading on, and what not, god, I was getting mad. So happy she came to her senses.

Luke, for me stole the show. He was more the your typical alpha male. He was willing to move heave and hell for Macey. He never force her, and was willing to go agents everything just to show her how much he loved her. It was a nice change from the pushy alphas that plagues the romance world.

Overall I loved everything about this book and I can't wait to dive into the next. If you haven't guessed I give this book my stamp of approval and my super high recommendation.

Beneath a Blue Moon (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #2)Beneath a Blue Moon
by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath a Blue Moon(Crescent City Wolf Pack #2) by Carrie Pulkinen was a steamy, thriller mix that had me hooked from start to finish.

Not my first read by this author or in this series. I have to say I am loving the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. The new book comes out next month and I can tell you I'm going to get snacking that up in a heartbeat. These books does read as a standalone. It does of good job of keeping past info from leaking in, but at the same time it does follow closely after the first book, and there are some spoilers. But like I said, this book is so well written and focused on our MC,s that if you didn't read the first, you're not going to be lost or confused. I do however suggest reading the first book, because it's freaking amazing.

Chase, I got to meet him in the first book, but he was a secondary character, so we don't get his back story. We get to know him in this one, and he's got one hell of a story to tell. It's sets the stage for his animosity towards Rain at the start. I will say this author does a good job at letting her character meet naturally. Nothing is forced and it feels like fate is having a time messing with these MC's.

As for Chase as a MC, he was strong, smart and he wasn't overbearing. He was a normal guy, outside of the werewolf thing, but he wasn't that extra alpha male character that gets triggered by everything. You know what I'm talking about... His' yet to be girl talks to another guy, and bam! He's in their face, baring teeth and wanting to break a limb. I mentioned this in my review for the first book, because Luck, their pack alpha, is like Chase, not a jerk. I got to say this pack knows how to raise decent men. It's fresh, and just relaxing to read about just a good guy character that has all the quirks, or making of a bad boy but chooses to not to be dushbag.

Rain, she was okay. I mean, I don't know, Chase was such a stand out character that I feel Rain got a little left behind. I wish there had some background on her story before Chase was brought in. I think it would have made me more sympathetic towards her. Going in blind works sometimes, but I feel like when you're writing in third person, like these books are, it gives you room to dive deeper into the characters backstories. No one thinks in riddles, and I feel that when he came to Rain past, it was present that way. Even showing her having to tell the coven why she was cures before the start of the story, would have helped with setting up her backstory. I honestly think it would have added to her character. It would have gave her something to grown on, and developed her character arc. Don't get me wrong I did like her, and I did like her overall character, it was just, not as remember-able as I think it could have been. It would have made the ending more explosive.

Overall I give this book, this series, my super his recommendation and my stamp of approval. This book, on top of being well written and addicting, was just as or better then the last book. I love this magical shiftier world, and I can't wait for the next book. manly because it's going to follow two character that I've had my eye on from the first book. And if this progression is anything to go on, I have a feeling the next book is going to be nothing short of epic.

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #3)Bound by Blood
by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound by Blood (Crescent City Wolf Pack #3) by Carrie Pulkinen was a fast paced, action packed, steamy romance, that had me hooked from start to finish.

Not my first read by this author or in this series. I am addicted to these books! I will tell you that though these read as standalone, there are major spoilers and backstories from the other two books. So I highly suggest reading them before from the start. That and, they're freaking awesome as well.

I've been waiting for this book, right from book one when Alexis met Bryce in the first book sparks seemed to fly; and you even notice it in the second. This is a long time coming for me and I was so happy to finally read their story, I was not disappointed. I knew it was going to be Alexis centered, and the hard life she lead up till now. Getting her full backstory was what I've been waiting for. I have to say, it's dark, heart breaking and makes you just want to hug her. But at the same time it makes you understand why she so stand-of-ish, and unable to fully settle down. Alexis has been a solid character since book one, and I will tell you, though she my be damaged, but she's no pushover. Girl is kick-ass.

Bryce, he's another character we finally get to see the true colours of. I'm not going to tell you what they are as it will ruin the fun. But damn, I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers. Overall Bryce again is has been a solid character from book one. There's a twist at the end that brings him and Macey full circle and it fits perfectly. I was kind of expecting it, but still pleasantly surprised when I was right.

Overall this book like it's predecessors was a wicket thrill ride that's full of messy action, kick-ass werewolves, steamy romance and of course, rich detailed writing that just pulls you into this unique, captivating world. This book, this series, is a must read. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall head over heels for this outstanding read.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #4)A Deal with Death
by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack #4) by Carrie Pulkinen was an engaging, original read that had me hooked.

I have been waiting for this book, and I'm in a good feels place cause the wait is over, but I'm sad at the same time cause I want more books from this series like yesterday.

This series has been by far my favourite of the year, and I can't get enough of this world that Carrie Pulkiene has created. This book opens with a dark bang, and it sets the stage for the crazy good to come. I love how there's always a mystery, and how the female MC's are always kick ass and brilliant. Sure they have their hot alpha male werewolf, but they're no pushovers. This book is no different with Odette. I loved her, and I think she's probably my favourite MC so far. Sure sure, James is great too, but Odette, she was just outstanding, and I have a major girl crush.

Overall this book was quite the read, it was as I said, fresh, original and just one of those wow reads that gets your blood flowing. The detail was on point, the plot solid, and the dark themes helped keep your mind engaged. There was enough romance to break it up, and keep it light while not overpowering the characters.

To end, this book this series is a must read, and it gets my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval.

Happy Reading
