What a rid that was. Been a hot second since I've read a urban fantasy that didn't make me sad. I have to say I am impressed and I can't wait to read more from this series. Sure, did it have troupes and a mountain of cliches? Yes of course it did. Did I cringe and laugh at the same time? Yes. But did I hate it, no. I think that we're point now in book where you just have to accept all the troupes an cliches, and just enjoy the stories for what they are. Pure fun entertainment.

The flow of this story was smooth and I love the powerful opening. It set the tone and got us down to business pretty fast. I would have liked a prologue, just to get s better sense of the events that happened before the start of this book. Only because at times I felt like I was reading book two, instead of book one.

Other then that, I fully enjoyed this book and I will be keeping an eye out for book two and all the books to come. I don't want to spoil anything, but lets just say this urban fantasy finally gave me something I've been waiting for from these types of books. Some cliches are meant to be broken and this book deiced to just set them on fire.

Happy Reading
