As Cory takes a well-earned rest and finally submits to proper weapons training, he and a couple of people from his household go on a hunting trip in the marshland between Barresh and the turquoise sea. A bad storm has come through recently and on a deserted beach, Cory finds something Earthly that doesn’t belong there: a message in a bottle, a piece of paper with HELP scratched on it with a sharp object. Cory has a list of all humans in Barresh: it’s very short and no one is missing. A few days later, he receives a curious message through official channels, from a woman on Earth whose rich businessman husband went on a trip of a lifetime “in a place where you can surf with plesiosaurs in turquoise waves”.
Cory knows the guy advertising the trip. He’s a shady character. He also knows where the “plesiosaurs” are. They’re not particularly friendly. Not to mention that the area is on the land of a viciously territorial Pengali tribe.
As it turns out, those are the least of his worries.

I'm really on the fence about this book. I honestly don't know if I like it or not. So I'm going to break this review down, because if not I'm going to be all over the place.
Story
I'll start with the over all story, before I start to rant about the things that have cause my confusion and uncertainty. The over all story, was to me, jumbled. There were some really solid scenes and I was nose deep until it taper off and, I was left with this empty feeling. For example the opening, was in my opinion, top notch. Sure I didn't quite get all the terms, but that's a normal occurrent in most first chapters and normally you get told rather quickly what all those foreign terms and words mean. This was not the case, I still don't know what some of the teams mean. In truth I still don't know what they were actually fighting or how their organization worked. Cole did tell Kadence some, but it was juvenile, something you would tell a five year old so they would stop asking questions.

Editions at Play publishes titles designed for your smartphone
"Welcome to our bookstore," reads the blurb for Google's new Editions at Play initiative. "We sell books that cannot be printed."
It's a simple manifesto that marks an interesting foray into the digital arts for Google. Editions at Play is all about exploring the idea of "digital books" — not just ebooks, but books that simply can't exist on static, printed paper. The project launched last week with a pair of new titles: Entrances & Exits by Reif Larsen, and The Truth About Cats & Dogs by Sam Riviere and Joe Dunthorne. The first is essentially a point-and-click adventure game in Google Street View, while the second is a "failed collaboration" consisting of Riviere's and Dunthorne's diaries which readers can switch back and forth between.
