Author: JenniferM. Eaton

Format: Paperback, eBook

Alien scientist David has dealt with disappointment his entire life, but failing to breathe life into the planet Mars is his greatest regret. Out of options and in need of a new home for their people, the alien Caretakers rekindle their plan to inhabit Earth. First they will have to eliminate the human race, including Jess, the only human David holds dear.
Humanity has one final chance at survival. David needs to emulate Earth’s precipitation on Mars. But the catalyst to make it rain lies in the fathomless depths of Earth’s ocean.
The clock is ticking down to humanity’s last hours as Jess and David face a world more alien than either of them can imagine. The sea hides secrets, but some secrets don’t want to be found.

My Rating: ★★★★★

From the first book I was hooked. I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. To watch Jess and David grow emotionally, mentally and physically really pulled at the heart strings. I'm always sad to see a great series end, so I'll try not to gush to much. Though with the ending I'm not quite sure if this series is ending or not, it wasn't a cliffly like the others, just, unresolved.

I was impressed with this flow of this series, each book connected nicely with the last. You didn't have to scramble wondering if you missed something. And it did help that I read these books back to back. What I loved the most, each book has it's own setting, a different adventure, and of course crazy action.

The Jess form the first to now, wow, just wow. She grew up so much, and David... I wasn't sold on them at first, but they have surly secured a spot on my favourite ship list. I've always been a sucker for the whole star-crossed lover tropes.

This book takes us under the sea, the descriptions were rich and dear I say magic? The ocean is its own mystery and pretty much a different realm altogether.  I'm in the navy so having the pleasure to read about this authors take on the beautiful water that covers most of this planted is exciting. I've spent the last 10 years sailing the ocean, and believe me, your imaginations can't even conger some of the things I've seen.

Back one track

This book like it's predecessor takes you on a wild ride, the urgency is there, the rush is real, and the ending... just.. my heart. I thought I can't take the last one, but hell, sometimes I wonder why I put myself through the agony. I want more, Jess and David need more.

I highly recommend this book, this series. Sure there are some typical YA tropes and clichés, but hey, they are writing well, and toppled over with this one of a kind plot and the heart racing adventures.

Happy Reading

Jennifer M. Eaton hails from the eastern shore of the North American Continent on planet Earth. Yes, regrettably, she is human, but please don’t hold that against her. While not traipsing through the galaxy looking for specimens for her space moth collection, she lives with her wonderfully supportive husband and three energetic offspring. (And a poodle who runs the spaceport when she’s not around.)
During infrequent excursions to her home planet of Earth, Jennifer enjoys long hikes in the woods, bicycling, swimming, snorkeling, and snuggling up by the fire with a great book; but great adventures are always a short shuttle ride away.
Who knows where we’ll end up next?
