The Matriarch

The Matriarch: An Erotic Superhero RomanceThe Matriarch: An Erotic Superhero Romance

My mind is officially blown! Originally reading the title of this book, you think okay a super hero who has kinky sex. Well, she’s a superhero alright but not in the Superman kind of way. More of the Batman kind of way, lots of really cool toys (and I’m not talking sex toys here people!). Maggie Madison, your Matriarch.

you meet this bad ass, potty mouthed sex diva who fucks the bad guys before she kills them, or to manipulate long enough to get the information she needs. Jump back in time and you meet the 12-year-old girl who is being uprooted from the home she knows and loves and moved into this hellhole with her brother and parents. This “country” is ruled by a feared “mob boss” kind of guy, who ends up killing her father in front of her, admits killing her mother and brother, then begins whoring her out (yes at 12). At 19, Maggie is your traditional red light distract whore. She seems to have excepted this life but then mob boss Kiril decides she needs to be moved to another ‘distract’. In transport she escapes, finds herself helped by a man, taught to fight (think Uma Thurman in Kill Bill) and goes back to her hometown and begins her destruction of Kiril and his empire. Just when you think it can’t get worse then Kiril, insert villain number 2 Ka0s. He also speaks of justice and wanting the rich to suffer. One more thing, let’s throw a love interest by the name of Cody into the mix just because things aren’t spicy enough! Oh and did I mention Ka0s is really Kyle, her presumed dead brother Kiril said he murdered!!

Sloane Howell is a new find for me, and a gem I didn’t know existed! I couldn’t put this book down until it was finished and I didn’t expect this book to end as it did! It through me for loops. There were moments where I was hot and bothered but then scared for the characters I quickly came to love. I mourned the losses of some and felt anger in my heart towards those who caused harm. This is by far the darkest erotic romance I’ve read. It is most definitely not for the faint of heart. I can’t wait to hear when Howell will release the next one!
