The first book in the series, Murder in Little Shendon, is a thriller murder mystery which takes place in a quaint little village in England after World War Two.

Picture, if you will, a picturesque village called Little Shendon, suddenly caught up in dealing with a murder of one of its citizens — not a particularly well-liked one at that. Which makes it all the more intriguing because the list of suspects becomes very long. This tantalizing tale unfolds with twists and turns to find out whodunit to Mr. Bartholomew Fynche, the murdered shopkeeper.

Fear grips the community as the investigation slowly progresses. Everyone is interviewed; everyone is suspect! From his housekeeper to Lady Armstrong and her household staff. Or could it be the shy librarian new in town? Or the defiant retired army major and his ladyfriend, the post mistress? Or perhaps the weird sisters who live on the edge of town? Then there is the couple who own the local inn and pub, along with the two Americans who are staying there? Even the vicar and his wife fall under the gloom of suspicion.

Uncertainty, wariness, and terror reign as neighbors watch neighbors to discover the evil that permeates their upturned lives. No one feels safe in this charming little village. Who is the murderer? And why was this strange uncivil man dispatched in such a seemingly civil community?

A murder mystery that will keep you reading until you learn the details, uncovered by Police Inspector Stanley Burgess and his two amateur detectives, Sir Victor Hazlitt and Beresford Brandon. The three sift methodically through the Alibis and life stories of the suspects until they uncover…

You are challenged to discover the culprit before the last few pages. And no fair looking ahead — it’s the journey that proves the most enticing.

Let’s start with, how are you this find day?

Just super, thanks.  The sun is out, there is an azure sky, and it's on the nippy side,  but the unceasing rain has finally ceased, and this is adding to my feeling of well-being.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

The information and ideas for my books come straight out  of  my head - I have been blessed or cursed with a wild imagination , and if you're going to write fiction, this is an enormous benefit.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?

I was afraid you might ask this, but my first book was written when I was 69 years old, and that is the unvarnished truth.  Ideas for books danced around in my head for a few years, but it was'nt until later that I actually had the time to settle down and write, and then lots of books were unleashed.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

When I am not writing I love to paint (Canvases not walls!) and take my two beloved pugs for romps in the woods.

What does your family think of your writing?

My family, I have three sons, are hugely supportive of my writing ... I think I am constantly surprising my children, but then mothers do that on occasion.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

I think that the most surprising thing that I learned  while writing, was how easily the whole creative process c ame to me ... I had always heard comments like "writing  is so difficult, and then there is writer's block" and so on.  I am happy to report that I have never had writer's block, for which I'm grateful.  I usually suffer from too many ideas, rather then not enough.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have written six books, the sixth is about to emerge v ery soon - I have  written three fantasy adventures for  children six to fifteen, and three murder mysteries for the slightly older children!

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I do hear from readers sometimes, and they usually ask me where my 'characters'  come from, and  if I consider myself a second Agatha Christie, which I always love!

Have you even been sent far art?

I am not sure what 'far art'  is --- might that be  art from afar?  It's not a term I am familiar with.

What do you think makes a good story?

Spinning a good yarn, and weaving wonderful characters into it, so that the story springs to life ... do that and you will have a winning combination.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

As a child, and daughter of a  famous British composer (Clive Richardson) I lived in  an 'arty' world, full of musicians, writers, painters and so on ... and I wanted to be an actress, and was for about four years   when I lived in England.

What is that one weird quirk about yourself, that no one else knows?

A weird quirk about myself?   Good Heavens, they are probably legion!  I have a strong spiritual side, and believe in the paranormal, but I see that is a question a little farther on.

If you had your time back what would you tell yourself about writing?

My advice to me about writing?  Stick with it, go off the beaten path a little, believe in yourself   and in your uniqueness, and ignore the naysayers... always.

Last but not least,

Do you believe in ghost? Or have you ever had an encounter with the other kind?

Yes, I do believe in 'ghosts' or spirits as I prefer to call them ... and have had a  very interesting personal experience, but it would take too long to relate it here - shall we keep that for another time?

Thank you for answers my questions

Thank you for your interest, so kind of you.
