( I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review )

This book was a hard, painful read. Mostly because right form the start you could feel the pending doom. Rachel ripped out my heart and laughed while she danced. The struggle to get it back was wrenching as I went on, only to have her crushed, and crushed it over and over. She broke the mold with this one!

This book picks up right form where Candidate left off. That cliffhanger of a ending, that.. I can't even, my heart still hurts.

This story was, no this series is a rare find. This is what reading YA should be like, original, heartbreaking, bloody and beautiful. We have a love story that has grown from hate to friendship to love. That is how is should work. We see them, their up and downs and we see them devoted to making it work, not jut with the good, but with the bad.

Ry, my girl, so many times I wanted to smack you in the back of the head, so many times I wanted to grab you a shake you, just scream that you're an idiot, trust that fungus prince and stop killing yourself.

Derrick, as much as I still kind of don't like him, I kind of sort of, fell for that idiot. It was towards the end, that min blowing ending, that... I can't say, I want to but it will ruin that explosive bloody ending that I know was going to happen. But, my heart, god, I was serious in tears! I'm not a crier for people, animals, yes, they die in movies and I'm a baby, but people, not so much.

The flood of emotions that Rachel ripped out my me... I felt like the grinch when his heart grew three sizes. My rib cage just couldn't take it. This is what I wrote right after you managed to destroy my heart, rebuild it, destroy it again only to make me cry at the ending. I’m so happy that Ry and Darren have somehow made it.

I highly recommend this book, this series. Though I'm sad that is story has ended, I'm happy that these characters, this world will still live on, and grow. Because although the ending is was what you would call a happy ever after, it was bittersweet. That saying, thought it was more on the sweet side, it still had that bitterness to know that nothing truly ends like a fairy tail.

Happy Reading
