Casting Magic: A Grazi Kelly Universe Novella

My rating: ★★★★★
I loved this short.
Fast pace and full of heart pounding action I couldn't put this read down even though the hour was getting late and I had to get up early for work. (Oh work how you spoil and shorten my reading time.)
There is a ah ha moment in this book, if you've read all the Grazi Kelly novels then you know that Angela is Grazi's BF, and in the third book goes MIA. In this short the mystery is solve and are told why Angela goes off the map and, why Grazi can't get a hold of her. Makes me happy to know that Angela didn't ditch.
Aside from finding out where Angela went off too, we get to learn about her family, and how it isn't that perfect. But most of all we learn that our favorite red head, is actually a white witch. (I knew there was something fishy about her. )
Angela grows a lot through out this short. In a way she is shocked into growing up and opening her eyes to a hidden family secret that both breaks her heart and enlightens her at the same time. The growing pains are harsh, but, she deals with the problems with maturity beyond her teen years could even have prepared her for. She is rapidly moving up on my favorite female hero list.
The only thing I didn't quite like, or more so, not so much not like, but annoyed me, was the punch in the gut insta-love. Don't get me wrong I loved this coupled, and am rooting for them, I just found it happened too fast. And for me at times, it felt a little awarded. Again this is my personal opinion, as I am not a fan of the over used and unrealistic insta-love theme.
In all, this short is an extraordinary read, and a must read for fans of the Grazi Kelly novels. The writing is exciting, solid, and the plot is near perfection. There's no veering, and at no point is the goal placed on the get-to-it-later self, because the protagonist got suddenly distracted by unimportant, non plot things, like doing her nails. (You know what I mean, day-in-the-life crap that serves no purpose other then mindless filler.)
I highly recommend this short. As I said it's fast pace, action packed, with surprises around every corner. It is also deep look into how to love yourself, and how to get past the negative poison that we are condition into.
I can't wait for more stories from Angela's world, and I'm hoping that one day, they will fully cross over with Grazi; no more secretes.
Happy Reading
