Interview

Let’s start with, how are you this fine day? I’m loving the day. Editing a script for my book EXOTIQA and about to edit book two in Electric Gardens series that is coming out in March of 2018!

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books? My head;) I usually have an idea and it spins around for a bit and mixes with a few other ideas and then when it is ready I know it is time for the book. I like to focus on robotics, nature, animals and future technology. I like to explore what our future might be like.

When did you write your first book and how old were you? I wrote short stories since I was in Elementary school. The teacher used to read my stories in front of the class.

What do you like to do when you're not writing? I like to read, watch TV and cook. The beach is fun too.

What does your family think of your writing? They like to be supportive. They don’t really say much about it though. A, “How is your writing going?” here or there.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? How much work goes into marketing.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? I have about twenty-five books, counting some novellas. My favorite is the current book Electric Gardens, of course. A kind of Divergent meets Terminator.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say? I hear from my readers a lot. They like to eMail or comment on my blog or on Amazon reviews. I hear a lot of. “When is the next book in this series?” or “Wow, just wow. Another great one.” I get a  lot of positive feedback.

Have you even been sent fan art? ? Not sure the question.

What do you think makes a good story? I think characters and plot have to be good. Characters the reader can relate to or root for, but characters that have flaws and feel real. Plot is essential in my view. I get bored if a plot is not interesting no matter how much I like the characters. But in science fiction, the ideas often trump all of that and I have to agree. So, I love ideas.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? I wanted to be a home maker at one point, and a writer.

What is that one weird quirk about yourself, that no one else knows? Gosh, there are so many. LOL. If I had to pick just one, I’d say I have a word compulsion. Some people do this with numbers. They have to say numbers in their head or repeat them or count a certain number of times. I have a quirk like that with words and spelling.

If you had your time back what would you tell yourself about writing? I would start writing novels in my late teenage years and practice practice practice. I would start submitting my work everywhere so that at this time now, I’d more of a presence.

Last but not least,

Do you believe in ghosts? Or have you ever had an encounter with the other kind? Yes, and yes.

Thank you for answers my questions
